Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness through Custom Framing

Mar blog 11 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, claiming the lives of hundreds of thousands of women each year and affecting countries at all levels of modernization.

The good news is that in recent years we have seen a gradual reduction in female breast cancer incidence rates among women aged 50 and older. Death rates from breast cancer have been declining since about 1990 due to better screening and early detection, increased awareness, and continually improving treatment options.

The women at Eastlake Framing wanted to help out in our own small way by creating a custom framed art piece to support the cause. We have all been personally touched by the disease over the last several years, so this was a project that was very meaningful to us.

We were able to obtain permission to use the “Heaven Can Wait” logo in the project. Held every year on National Cancer Survivor’s Day (first Sunday in June), Heaven Can Wait has grown into Central Oregon’s premiere athletic event and an annual celebration of cancer survivorship. We think they do an amazing job raising money and awareness locally and we wanted to include their logo in the piece to honor the work they have done.

Creating this piece together was an incredibly rewarding and heartwarming experience, and we are so proud of what we accomplished.
