Say cheers to art and culture at this year’s WinterFest!

Eastlake Framing Bend Winterfest

No one does winter quite like Bend, Oregon. That’s why we’re highlighting the celebration of outdoor sports and activities at the 2014 WinterFest! There are many reasons why we will be layering up our puffy jackets and braving the cold for this year’s celebration!

Art

This is a primary event for all art lovers in town. This year will include more fire pits, snow sculptures and ice carvings than ever before, lighting up the festival with interactive art! Take your Valentine to our Artist Spotlight Event at Eastlake from 5-8pm on Friday, February 14. Then peruse ongoing ice carving, snow sculpting, and artisan fire pit displays, including the Oregon Lottery Marketplace with artisan food, art, and clothing.

Action

Whether you’re participating or observing, the rail jam is a don’t-miss for most Bendites. Watch the U.S. Cellular Rail Jam both nights, then catch the Metal Mulisha Motorcycle Jump Shows on Sunday. Freeze your buns off for a good cause in the Bend Polar Plunge supporting Special Olympics Oregon or participate in the OSU Cascades Snow Warriors Extreme Obstacle Race. There’s an event for everyone!

Music

Get your groove on at the Mt. Bachelor Music Mainstage. Friday night will feature New Orleans Jazz icons the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. They’re a world famous music machine and former featured guests on albums by David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Dr. John, Buckwheat Zydeco, Dave Matthews Band, Modest Mouse, Widespread Panic, and the Black Crowes. Saturday night has even more fun in store with Redwood Son, voted Portland’s “Best New Artist” this year. They are opening for the headliner Menomena, a band with Portland pop vibes.

Drinks

The Whole Foods Market Wine Walk on Friday costs $22 and will include admission to WinterFest and commemorative wine glasses. The Growler Guys Bent Lounge will provide music, drinks, and general merriment. What would WinterFest be without some great craft beer?

We love being on the cutting edge of the art and culture scene here in Bend. We look forward to celebrating with you at WinterFest, February 14-16 at the Old Mill!
